My brother Mark had Juvenile Battens disease which made him blind,epileptic and immobile towards the end. He had several other problems however he never complained. Mark was a very honest person if he had something to say he would say it whether u liked it or not. Everywhere he went he was loved and over the years he touched so many peoples lives. He went to schools for the blind in Sheffield and Liverpool before going to college in Harrogate and then finally coming home to Doncaster where he moved into a nursing home. Mark was so brave throughout everything he went through and our mum Karen could not have been a better mum. There is no love like a mothers love and she proved this on a daily basis having to do everything by herself. I am proud and honoured to have had Mark as my brother he will live in our hearts forever.

A meeting was held quite far from earth,
Time again for another birth,
Said the Angels to the Lord above
This special child will need a lot of love.
Their progress may be very slow
Accomplishments they may not show
And they'll require special care
From the folks they'll meet way down there .
They may not run or laugh or play
Their thoughts my seem so far away
In many ways they won't adapt
And they'll be known as Handicapped.
So lets be careful where they're sent
We want their life to be content,
Please Lord find the Mother who
Will do this special job for you.
She will not realise straight away,
The leading role she'll have to play
But with this child sent from up above
Comes stronger faith and richer love.
And soon she'll know the privilege given
In caring for this Gift from Heaven.
